Tips and Tricks
- Sleep, get enough sleep. When you are sleep deprived your body releases a hormone that sets off your need to eat.
- Add foods with lots of volume to your diet. You eat less but feel full. Like 100 calories of grapes is way more satisfying than 100 calories of raisins.
- DO NOT DRINK YOUR CALORIES! Having a cup of tea or glass of OJ in the morning isn’t going to kill you. But getting more than 22% of you daily calorie intake from liquids is bad, Your body doesn’t register it. Stick with ice water. Your body actually burns more calories trying to warm it and it contains zero itself.
- Love your veggies and fruits. Most veggies have very little calories in them. Same with fruits. You’ve never heard of anymore getting fat from eating carrots. Make them your go-to when you want something crunchy. Make apples your go-to when you want something sweet.
- Eat more calories in the morning. You have more of a chance to burn them off throughout the day.
- Focus on your food. Don’t watch TV, don’t do homework. Just eat.
- Eat on smaller plates. Back in the ’50s our salad plate was the dinner plate, go back to eating that way.
- Clean. Clean your room, the living room, the bath room. Clean, clean, clean.
- Brush your teeth. Fresh mint and most foods don’t go well together.
- Paint your nails. Take your sweet time and make them perfect.
- Go for a long walk, on a nature trail, no where near stores where food lingers.
- Chew sugar free gum if you must have something in your mouth. *Peppermint is known to suppress appetites*
- Make a thinspo notebook.
